About 200 refugees, who ran away from the attack of “Boko Haram”, died from hunger and dehydration in the northeastern Nigerian city of Bam last month.
The armed group captured Bama in September 2014 and the Nigerian troops recaptured it in March 2015. “Boko Haram” organizes terrorist attacks on the borders with Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
“The catastrophic humanitarian emergency situation” continues in a tent camp in the hospital, where 24,000 people have found the refuge. The most suffer children, they are dying of hunger. In the camp, every five child from 15 000 suffers from hunger and thirst.
Militants “Boko Haram” regularly burn houses and destroy the wells, leaving only few water sources in a region where the temperature if often higher that 40 degrees.
The International Organization “Shield” condemns the actions of military groups, because of their actions civilians died. These are the greatest violations of the international law. We call on the world to pay attention to the situation in Nigeria and to bring the responsible persons for the deaths of these people to the punishment.
