On September 12, 2016, in the building of the Regional Council, the International holiday “KURBAN-BAYRAM 2016 IN THE CITY OF ODESSA” took place. The holiday organizers were the International Organization “Shield,” the “Assalam” Charitable Foundation, and the Committee on Issues of Nationalities and Religion of the Public Council of the OOGA. The main participants in the holiday were refugee children, orphans, disabled people, children from the Odessa boarding school, children of mixed marriages, and others. The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the President of the International Organization “Shield,” Head of the Committee on Nationalities and Religion of the Public Council of the OOGA, Professor Dager Saleh Muhamed, wishing all those present, first of all, peace, good health, kindness, prosperity, and generosity of the soul. Honorable and distinguished guests attended the celebration: city authorities, representatives of various diasporas and national minorities, such as Afghan, Chechen, Syrian, African, Palestinian, Azerbaijani, Egyptian, Hindu, Iraqi, Pakistani, Bulgarian, poets-writers, representatives of TV channels and the media and many others. Made with congratulations and warm wishes: imam and representative of the city of Odesa – Sheikh Ilyas Umarov, head of the Public Council at OODA – Maksimovich V.Ya., representative of the Department of Internal Policy of the City Council Mayborodyuk I.I., representative of the Migration Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region – Yuzik E.S., Representative of the National Police in the Odesa Region, Colonel-General of the Southern Cossack Operational District V.N. Solodskikh, President of the Afghan Diaspora in Ukraine – Abdula Bayani, Representative of the Syrian Diaspora in Ukraine – Katravi Ali, President of the New Arab School in Odesa – Dr. Khaldun Mohamedovich Zayada, Dr. Sami Mikhana, director of the Granddent clinic – Al-Mohamad Aref Ahmad and poet Anatoly Yani. The children’s ensemble “Fair” presented its creative performances in festive songs to the public. After the ceremonial part, an entertainment program with animators was organized for children. Each child received a gift. The eyes of kids and seniors shone with joy and happiness; smiles never left their faces. On this sacred Muslim holiday, everyone became one big, friendly family – children – playing with each other, adults – communicating with each other. All guests were treated to various food, sweets, and juice during the event. The international organization “Shield” thanks everyone present at the Eid al-Adha festival in Odesa.
