On November 23, 2016, President of the International Organization “Shield”, Dager Saleh Mohamed, together with his permanent assistants – Vice-President Matyakin Alexander Georgievich, Adviser for Affairs with Arab Countries – Alhamud Hamud, Director of the International Health Center – Ahmad Dovvakh, Mustafa Abdelhamid Zaglul Director of International children’s club, lawyers and activists of the organization “Shield”, as well as the Head of the Odesa regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine – Yuriy Anatolyevich Rabotin and President of the Maternal Glory Charitable Foundation Yuriy Kuklin visited the Center for Social and Psychological Aid in the city of Odesa, on the territory of which about 300 people (70 of whom are children) who were left without a roof over their heads and means of subsistence for various reasons: migrants from Eastern Ukraine; orphans; women with children, victims of domestic violence.
The “Shield” organization collected humanitarian aid in the form of food, fruit, and juice.
As Dager Saleh Muhamed noted: “For us, residents of peaceful regions, even with all the modern information about it, it is difficult to understand and comprehend the level of the tragedy of people from Eastern Ukraine. They lived like everyone else: they worked, rested, studied, rejoiced, and grieved. The war broke into their homes swiftly, without giving time to comprehend what happened and prepare. People rushed from their seats, almost without having time to collect their things. Having captured the most necessary, they left in any possible way to the neighboring regions, receiving a new status – migrants. From the very first days, refugees needed material assistance, since people often did not have basic necessities with them, personal hygiene products, not to mention food. That is why our organization, from the very beginning of the conflict, has constantly been providing assistance to displaced persons. The most important thing is to make them understand that they are not unnecessary to anyone. Among the settlers, there are people whose movement is impossible without a wheelchair. They, like no one else, need constant material and moral support since they do not have and will not have the opportunity to survive on their own in this difficult time for Ukraine. “
The international organization “Shield” will continue to support refugees from Eastern Ukraine and the whole world, since one of the priority goals of the Congress “Shield” is to ensure and protect the legal rights and interests of socially vulnerable people around the world, support and provide assistance to those who are acute needs it.
