April 2, 2015 in Odessa, the President of The International Congress on protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens» shield «Daher Mohamed Saleh, attended a seminar on the theme: «Participation of national minorities in public life- General concepts and international standards».
Organizers of the seminar on European minority issues in partnership with the Odessa Regional State Administration.
Some topics of the seminar agenda: The participation of minorities in society — the general concept and international standards; The official policy of ethnic culture and models of cooperation with the authorities; Advisory and consultative structures — models and their effectiveness; Non-governmental organizations of minorities, their legitimacy and efficiency; Local government and the inclusion of minorities in the local community; National dialogue, integration and national reconciliation — models and international experience.
The purpose of the seminar is to improve goverment and the promotion of the state policy aimed at ensuring social equality and the improvement of cooperation between the state with national minorities, as well as improvement of interaction between central and local authorities, raising the level of trust and cooperation between public institutions and civil society.
